					Step 1
			In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar, stirring constantly until it turns into a golden-brown liquid.

			Immediately add the unsalted butter to the saucepan. Be careful as the mixture will bubble up.

			Stir the butter into the caramel until it is completely melted, about 2 minutes.
					Step 4
			Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring. The mixture will bubble up again.
					Step 5
			Allow the caramel to boil for 1 minute, then remove from heat and stir in a pinch of salt.

			Let the caramel sauce cool in the saucepan for a few minutes before transferring it to a jar to cool completely.
