					Step 1
			Soak the navy beans in water overnight.
					Step 2
			Drain and rinse the beans, then place them in a large pot with 8 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.

			Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
					Step 4
			Drain the beans, reserving the cooking liquid.
					Step 5
			In an ovenproof pot, combine the beans, onion, molasses, brown sugar, salt pork, dry mustard, salt, black pepper, and ketchup.
					Step 6
			Pour enough of the reserved cooking liquid into the pot to just cover the beans.
					Step 7
			Cover the pot and bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 6 hours, until the beans are tender. Check occasionally and add more reserved cooking liquid if needed.
					Step 8
			Remove the cover during the last 30 minutes of baking to allow the beans to brown on top.
