Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 10 g fresh basil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 g parmesan cheese
  • 400 g penne pasta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 ml tomato sauce
  • 60 ml vodka

Directions

Step 1
Cook the penne pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes, and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3
Pour in the vodka and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the alcohol has evaporated.
Step 4
Add the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 5
Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce is well combined and slightly thickened.
Step 6
Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat well with the sauce.
Step 7
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix until the cheese is melted and well incorporated.
Step 8
