  • 200 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 240 ml buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 60 grams unsalted butter
  • 50 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a donut pan.
Step 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Step 4
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 5
Spoon the batter into a piping bag and pipe it into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
Step 6
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the donut comes out clean.
Step 7
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional: Once cooled, you can glaze or dust the donuts with powdered sugar.
