A delicious and easy-to-make recipe for baked beans using an Instant Pot. Perfect for family gatherings or as a side dish for barbecues.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 200 g bacon
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 450 g dried navy beans
  • 240 ml ketchup
  • 120 ml molasses
  • 30 ml mustard
  • 1 onion
  • 5 g pepper
  • 10 g salt
  • 5 g smoked paprika
  • 1000 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Rinse and sort the navy beans. Place them in the Instant Pot and add 4 cups of water.
Step 2
Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and pressure cook on high for 25 minutes. Allow a natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release the remaining pressure.
Step 3
Drain and rinse the beans. Set aside.
Step 4
Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.
Step 5
Add the diced onion to the pot and sauté until translucent.
Step 6
Add the cooked beans back to the pot along with the bacon, ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Stir to combine.
Step 7
Close the lid, set the valve to sealing, and pressure cook on high for 15 minutes. Allow a natural release for 10 minutes, then quick release the remaining pressure.
Step 8
Stir the beans and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve warm.
