Ingredients

  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1200 ml beef broth
  • 500 g beef stew meat
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 3 carrot
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp thyme

Directions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the beef stew meat and cook until browned on all sides.
Step 3
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
Step 4
Pour in the beef broth and add the bay leaf, salt, black pepper, and thyme. Bring to a boil.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 45 minutes.
Step 6
Add the chopped cabbage, sliced carrots, and diced potatoes to the pot.
Step 7
Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
