Ingredients

  • 6 cups bread
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups milk
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup rum
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2
In a small bowl, soak the raisins in rum for 15 minutes.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon, and whisk until well combined.

Add the cubed bread to the milk mixture, and gently stir to coat all the pieces. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.

Fold in the rum-soaked raisins along with any remaining rum.
Step 6
Grease a baking dish with melted butter. Pour the bread mixture into the prepared baking dish.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden brown.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a drizzle of cream or a scoop of ice cream if desired.
